HOMEWORK POLICY

1) Daily assignments: due at the beginning of school (8:05)
the next day. All projects will be due on the date set by Mrs. Staehr when the
project is assigned. Many writing assignments and projects will be submitted via Google Classroom. Each student has an account and has received directions for use. These assignments are due according to the dates and times posted on Classroom.

2) Grace Slip: Each student will receive two late homework passes in
language and two late passes in literature for every quarter. This permits
the student to turn in two late papers in each class with a 10% deduction
from the grade earned as long as the late paper is turned in within 24 hours of the original due date.

3) Late papers: accepted up to two days past the date due. Late
papers will result in a 50% for that assignment if the paper has a passing
grade (65% or higher). However, if the paper is incomplete or has a grade of
64% or lower, then the student will get a 50% deduction from the grade
earned. This will be the policy for late papers without the grace slip.

3) Incomplete assignments:  those not handed in by the student within
two days of the due date. Failure to turn in these assignments will result
in a 0% daily grade.

4) Absences: a day plus one day will be allowed to make up the
work. For example, if a student is absent one day, then two days will be
allowed. If a student is absent two days, then three days will be allowed,
and so on. If you know in advance that you will be absent, please contact the teachers in advance to make arrangements.

5) Extra credit may occasionally be available. Please request individually. This should be completed at least one week prior to the end of the quarter.
